Business Days Calculator

Count the business days between two dates, or find the date that falls a set number of business days after (or before) a start date. Choose your work week, list any holidays to skip, and see the result at once. It works for delivery times, payment terms, notice periods and deadlines. Everything runs in your browser.

What do you want to find?

One date per line as YYYY-MM-DD. Commas also work.

Dates are whole calendar days, so time zones and daylight saving changes cannot move a result. Counting works like the spreadsheet function NETWORKDAYS: both end days are counted unless you untick them, and a holiday that falls on a day outside your work week changes nothing. The tool does not know public holidays, because they differ by country, region and year, so list the ones you want to skip.

About the Business Days Calculator

A business day is a working day: by default Monday to Friday, without the holidays you list. October 2026 has 31 days and 22 business days. Counting works like the spreadsheet function NETWORKDAYS, so both the start date and the end date are counted when they are working days, and you can untick either one. Monday 19 October to Friday 23 October 2026 is 5 business days, and to Monday 26 October is 6. Adding business days moves a date forward past weekends and holidays: 5 business days after Monday 19 October 2026 is Monday 26 October, or Tuesday 27 October if Wednesday 21 October is a holiday. Use a negative number to go back, so 1 business day before Monday 19 October is Friday 16 October. You can choose Monday to Saturday, Sunday to Thursday, which some countries use, or pick the exact days of your own work week. A holiday that falls on a day you do not work changes nothing, and a date listed twice only counts once. Dates are whole calendar days, with no time of day and no time zone, so a daylight saving change can never shift a result. The tool does not know public holidays, because they differ by country, region and year, so you list the ones to skip. Nothing you enter is uploaded.

How do I count business days between two dates?▾

Count the days from the start to the end and leave out Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Monday 19 October to Friday 23 October 2026 is 5 business days, counting both ends. The tool does the counting and shows how many weekend days and holidays it removed.

Is the start date counted?▾

By default yes, as in the NETWORKDAYS spreadsheet function: both the start and end dates count when they are working days. Untick them to count only the days in between. For delivery or notice periods, you usually want the start date left out.

How do I add business days to a date?▾

Choose the add option, enter the start date and the number of business days. The tool steps forward one day at a time, skipping non-working days and holidays. 5 business days after Monday 19 October 2026 is Monday 26 October. A negative number counts backward.

Does it include public holidays?▾

No. Public holidays depend on the country, the region and the year, so the tool does not guess. Paste the dates you want skipped as YYYY-MM-DD, one per line or separated by commas, and they are removed from the count. A holiday that falls on a weekend changes nothing.

Can I use a work week other than Monday to Friday?▾

Yes. Pick Monday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday, or switch individual days on and off. The tool needs at least one working day.
