The Extract Emails tool scans your pasted text using a regular expression that matches the standard structure of email addresses: a local part (letters, digits, dots, hyphens, underscores, and plus signs) followed by an @ symbol, followed by a domain with at least one dot and a valid TLD of two or more letters. This covers the vast majority of real-world email formats including plus-tagged addresses (user+tag@gmail.com) and subdomains (user@mail.company.co.uk). The results are automatically deduplicated using case-insensitive comparison (since the domain part of email addresses is case-insensitive per RFC 5321), so if the same address appears ten times in a pasted thread, it shows up once. Marketers use this to extract contact lists from meeting transcripts, researchers to pull author emails from bibliography pages, and developers to harvest test addresses from log files.
