Quote Image Generator
Type a quote and the name of the person who said it, pick a shape and a background, and download a picture that is ready to share. The text size is chosen to fit the card, and you can set it yourself. You can choose square, portrait, story and wide shapes, three font styles and six backgrounds, and save a PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG. Everything runs in your browser, so your text is never uploaded.

The card is drawn in your browser with the fonts already on your device, so nothing you type is uploaded and the look of each font depends on your system. The text size is worked out from the length of the quote and an estimate of how wide the letters are, and you can set it by hand. If you share a quote, name the person who said it, and check that it is really theirs, because misattributed quotes spread fast.

Format ConversionAbout the Quote Image Generator
The card is built as HTML and drawn as an image by your own browser. The tool works out the largest text size, from 20 to 200 pixels, at which your quote wraps and still fits inside the card with room left for the author line. It does this by estimating how many letters fit on a line for the font you chose, so the result is a good fit rather than an exact one, and you can drag the size slider to adjust. The shapes are 1,080 by 1,080 for a square, 1,080 by 1,350 for a portrait, 1,080 by 1,920 for a story, and 1,200 by 675 and 1,200 by 630 for wide pictures. Those sizes are common choices, but each site sets its own rules, so check the one you post to. The fonts are the serif, sans serif and monospace fonts already on your device, so the look depends on your system. Backgrounds are gradients and plain colors, and every built-in pair of background and text color reaches the 4.5 to 1 contrast that the web accessibility guidelines (WCAG) ask for with normal text. You can pick your own text color, and the tool warns you when it falls below that level. The quote can be up to 600 characters. If you share a quote, name its source and check that it really is theirs. Nothing you type is uploaded.
How do I make a quote image?▾
Type the quote and the author, choose a shape, a font and a background, then press Download. The text size fits the card by default, and the preview shows the finished picture, so you can adjust it before you save.
Which size should I choose?▾
Square at 1,080 by 1,080 and portrait at 1,080 by 1,350 are common for feed posts, and 1,080 by 1,920 for stories. The wide shapes are 1,200 by 675 and 1,200 by 630. Each site sets its own rules and may crop pictures, so check the one you post to.
How is the text size chosen?▾
The tool tries sizes from large to small and keeps the biggest one at which the wrapped quote fits inside the card with space for the author line. It is an estimate based on the font you chose. Untick Fit the text to the card and drag the slider if you want a different size.
Can I use my own font?▾
Not at present. A picture drawn by the browser can only use fonts already on your device, so the tool offers a serif, a sans serif and a monospace font. The exact look of each depends on your system.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?▾
No. The picture is drawn in your browser and nothing you type leaves your device.
