SVG to PNG Converter

Paste SVG code or open an SVG file, choose a size, and download it as a PNG, JPEG or WebP. Pick 1x to 4x of the natural size or type an exact width, and keep the background transparent or fill it with a color. The SVG is drawn again at the output size, so enlarging it does not make it blurry. The conversion happens in your browser and the file is never uploaded.

Natural size: 120 x 120 px

Preview of the SVG
Will be 240 x 240 px

The SVG is read and drawn by your own browser, so the file is never uploaded. Browsers do not load images, fonts or style sheets from other sites inside an SVG that is drawn as a picture, so those parts will be missing. Embed them as data: addresses or convert text to paths first. A JPEG cannot be transparent, so it gets a white background unless you pick a color.

About the SVG to PNG Converter

An SVG is a drawing described in text, so it has no fixed number of pixels until you pick one. The tool reads the size from the width and height on the svg element, converting units such as pt, in, cm and mm to pixels at 96 per inch. If those are missing or are percentages, it uses the viewBox, and if there is neither it uses 300 by 150, the same default browsers use. Your size choice is then applied to that natural size. Because the browser draws the vector again at the output size, a 4x export is sharp, unlike enlarging a small PNG. The tool adds the SVG namespace if it is missing, drops an XML declaration and checks that the markup is valid before drawing. A PNG or WebP keeps transparency, and a JPEG cannot, so a JPEG is painted on white unless you pick a color. Browsers do not load images, fonts or style sheets from other sites when an SVG is drawn as a picture, and text uses the fonts on your device, so embed images as data: addresses and convert text to outlines for a faithful result. Files can be up to 2 MB and the output up to 8,192 pixels on a side. Nothing is uploaded.

How do I convert an SVG to a PNG?▾

Paste the SVG code or open the file, choose a size such as 2x, make sure PNG is selected, and press Download. The preview shows the drawing, and transparent areas show as a checkerboard.

Will the PNG be blurry if I make it bigger?▾

No. The browser draws the SVG again at the output size instead of stretching pixels, so a 4x PNG is as sharp as a 1x one. Edges are smoothed at the pixel level, as with any picture.

What size is my SVG?▾

The tool uses the width and height on the svg element, then the viewBox, and falls back to 300 by 150 pixels, the browser default, if neither is present. It shows the natural size under the box, and you can set a custom width in pixels.

How do I keep the background transparent?▾

Leave Transparent ticked and save as PNG or WebP. A JPEG cannot store transparency, so it is painted on white, or on the color you choose.

Why is text or an image missing from the result?▾

Browsers do not load images, fonts or style sheets from other sites when an SVG is drawn as a picture, and text uses the fonts on your device. Embed images as data: addresses and turn text into outlines in your drawing program for a faithful copy.
