Unit Price Calculator
Enter two or more products with their price, size, unit and number of packs, and the calculator works out the price per kilogram, litre or item for each, ranks them, and tells you which is the best value and by how much. Units are converted for you, so you can compare a 500 g bag with a 1.2 kg bag and a 12 oz box. Add up to eight products. Everything runs in your browser.
| Product | Price | Per kg | Per 100 g | More than best |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brand A | 3.49 | 6.98 | 0.698 | +28.9% |
| Brand B | 6.50 | 5.417 | 0.542 | Best |
| Brand C | 2.99 | 8.789 | 0.879 | +62.3% |
The unit price is the price divided by the total quantity: size times the number of packs, converted to kilograms, litres or single items. Weights use g, kg, oz and lb, volumes use ml, l and US fluid ounces, pints, quarts and gallons, and all products must use the same kind of unit. The cheapest unit price is not always the best buy: check how much you will really use, whether the bigger pack will go off, quality, and any deposit or bulk limit. Prices are whatever you type, in any currency. Everything runs in your browser.

Math & MoneyAbout the Unit Price Calculator
The unit price is the price divided by the total quantity. To compare fairly, every product has to be in the same unit, so the calculator converts weights between grams, kilograms, ounces and pounds, and volumes between millilitres, litres and US fluid ounces, pints, quarts and gallons. If a product is sold as a multipack, enter the size of one item and the number of packs, so a 6 pack of 330 ml cans is a size of 330 ml with 6 packs, which is 1.98 litres. For example, 500 g at 3.49 costs 6.98 per kg, 1.2 kg at 6.50 costs 5.42 per kg, and 12 oz at 2.99 costs 8.79 per kg, so the 1.2 kg pack is the best value and the 12 oz box costs about 62% more per kg. A lower unit price is not always the better buy. Think about how much you will actually use, whether the larger pack will spoil, the quality, and any deposit or limit. All products must use the same kind of unit, either weight, volume or count.
How do I calculate the unit price?▾
Divide the price by the quantity in the unit you want to compare. A 500 g bag at 3.49 costs 3.49 / 0.5 = 6.98 per kilogram.
Is the bigger pack always cheaper per unit?▾
Not always. Larger packs are often cheaper per unit, but sales and different brands can reverse it, which is why comparing unit prices is worth doing.
How do I compare a multipack with a single bottle?▾
Enter the size of one item and the number of packs. A 6 pack of 330 ml cans is 1.98 litres in total, and the calculator divides the price by that.
Can I compare a weight with a volume?▾
No. A kilogram of one product is not a litre of another, so every product in a comparison must be weight, volume or a count.
Is my data uploaded?▾
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
